What is a Life Coach?

  • Life coaching is a practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches help clients set and reach goals using a variety of tools and techniques. Coaches are not acting as therapists or consultants.

    Coaching involves a skilled, trained professional working with a client to help that client reach a specific goal or set of goals in their professional development. It is intended to be a creative and thought-provoking process that enables the client to maximize their potential in specific areas important to the client.

    The specific areas of coaching may include but are not limited to, career transition, interpersonal and professional communication, performance management, organizational effectiveness, managing career and personal changes, developing executive presence, enhancing strategic thinking, dealing effectively with conflict, amongst other goals.

    A professional coach may use inquiry, reflection, requests and discussion to help clients identify personal and/or business and/or relationship goals, develop strategies, relationships and action plans intended to achieve those goals. A coach provides a place for clients to be held accountable to themselves by monitoring the clients’ progress towards implementation of their action plans.

    Costs and Payment:
    Initial sessions are $125/hour with follow up sessions $60/half hour, schedule on a bi-monthly basis and
    paid monthly.

What Can I Expect from Life Coaching?

The first step is that you and I will conduct a phone interview as a first step to explore the fit between us and the goals you have set. The second step includes setting our first appointment. Preferable this is a one hour face to face meeting, but it can be over the phone. As a Life Coach I will send you a questionnaire before our first formal session to prepare both of us.
You will want to think about:
• The goals you want to reach
• What about now makes this a perfect time to start
• What time and energy you are ready to invest
• What kind of feedback helps you change and focus

Following the first session we will come to an agreement about how to proceed from this point re:
frequency of sessions, payment schedule, contact between sessions, etc.
